What limits the GVW of a 2500 to 8,800 lbs?

Ordered my new 5er today. Its a Lakota 29 ft triple slide #29rlt. It has a GVW of 12,250 and an empty weight of 10,000. This unit is built with the same innerstructure as the Holiday Rambler and Medallion. The only difference is not having the padded headliner, some woodtrim around the slideout openings and the central station for water supply and pullvalves. Be about 4-5 weeks before delivery.

Sounds like a nice rig Mike! Is it aluminum structure or wood?... just curious. I'm not even convinced which is better.

That'll make the HO snort over those Oregon pass's. #ad
Sounds like a nice rig. This is a first time 5ver for you, isn't it Mike?

Whoops. Went back to my first choice. Which is a Holiday Rambler Presidential 30ft double slide. Decided the Lakota was lacking in many aspects. This one is pricier but well worth the extra cost. Cant wait to get it. Its made in Indiana so I know it will take a few weeks. BTW,they are both aluminum framed.

Michael,
My last trailer was a 36' Holiday Rambler Imperial double-slide 5'er. I think you will really like it. There used to be a lot of quality in them. I assume there still is. Congrats!

Outstanding choice... HR Presidential #ad

We looked at the HR just AFTER we purchased the Cardinal. That'll be our next unit!
Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats!
By the time you receive it you will have the camping fever and the weather will be better.
Going to the coast first? I assume as the mountains would need runners to get in. You will no doubt have your hitch in by the time the unit arrives and will hit the ground running. (at least that is what I would do)

ENJOY THE NEW UNIT.
