I ordered a set of Edge Jammer Stage 5 (150) injector tips today. I will be installing them soon i hope. does anyone know how much gettin my injectors pop tested will cost and the best place to have it done. I don't want to ruin my engine by having a stuck injector, or for that matter ruin my performance by having one not open. I don't know much about changing the tips out but it sounds like a fairly simple process, I am gonna use my factory stock bodies and keep the DDII's so i can have a mild injector for when these are too much. I think if i can keep my box off i should be able to control them quite well. And they should make good pulling injectors with the box on, I hear the heat isn't much problem on the pulling track, I ususally keep my box on 3, maybe now i can just keep it off till i need it.

anyone out there that has an idea on cost of pop testing and where i can get it done, is it something Napa can do or is it specialized

This answer is in general. I called a local diesel shop when I lived in CA, they would not remove the injectors from my truck, but told me that they would install the new nozzles and pop test them for $25 each. Not sure how that compares to others. It was a shop in Sacramento that serviced most major diesels, not cummins specific.

wow that seems a lil much and the fact that they wouldnt remove em themselves says something right there i think. i installed some city diesel stage 3s and havent had em done but am going to ask the local cummins shop tomorrow i will stay in touch.

Being in the Diesel Injection industry for some time... $ 25 bucks an injector is about right, some places may even charge more. What you have to understand is it is not just assemble and pop test; it is how many times a particular injector might have to be taken apart and shimmed and re-tested to get the right opening pressure; by no means is this a 5 min. job. Not to mention most shops will clean the injector body and include new seals or washers for your app. ALSO... where you live will determine priceing based on markets.

I Posed This Same Question A Couple Weeks Ago. And Here Is What I Got In Return And Checking Into It It Makes Very Good Sense. Look On City Diesel Website If You Send In Cores You Can Buy Complete Injectors With New Tips That Are Already Tested Ready To InstallFOR ABOUT $100. 00 MORE PER SET . Not Sure What You Gave For Tips But I Dont Know How You Can Beat This Price. my Injectors Are Now With Bill At Bowser Performance Getting Tips. Hope To Be Smoking By The Weekend.

It's not really apples to apples but with my F1/M4's and HRVP44 with the Smarty on 9 I can tickle 1550° if I gouge on it real hard  , but I am still running stock intake and exhaust if that helps any.

if you leave the comp off you should be fine, i ran my jammer 5's for about 6 months and had no really high egt's 1250* tops. i just put my comp back in and on 1x1 i smoke very little, its much less than with the comp off. i have a S300G ( 62/14) turbo for now and with the comp on 5x5 i pulled it up to about 1450*, and that was at about 110mph. i sure it would be more if i have my EEP DD clutch in and i could keep it on the floor with out the stocker slippin!
