Ram 600 recall already??

removing/changing dually wheels

Well,

I have been out of the loop a while, but I have saved up money for a nice 40-50% down payment. A few months ago, when I got hooked on the CTD I decided that none of my local California Bay Area dealers were going to sell me a truck for anywhere near invoice. I have been planning on ordering it though Tommeygun, and flying out to St Louis, but I have heard rumors that Dodge will only ship a truck with California emissions to California, or a state which boarders California, and also to any other state that requires California emissions. Is there any truth to this, or is it just BS.

Another thing, has anybody bought a dodge out of state? How do you register and insure it for the drive home? I know these are all questions that Tommeygun could answer, but I would rather not bother him until I am absolutely ready to order my truck.

Another thing, is there anybody that knows of someone else who will sell me one for $500 over invoice or less? Any dealerships or salesmen anywhere in California, Oregon, or Nevada? If not, I will be happy to have a little plane flight and a mini road trip back home from St Louis Missouri.

Thanks for your replys,

Peter

It's about as far as it gets but two dealers within 20 miles of Boston will sell for under invoice. Melrose Dodge is $300 under, and Ira Dodge is $500 under, both have straight pricing no BS. I bought mine from Melrose Dodge and my buddy just picked up a new 600 from Ira Dodge. MA and CA have the same emmisions package. I would think you would not have any problem registering a new truck from MA in CA but I do not know for sure.

Go to Serramonte Dodge in Colma. Talk to Rob. Mention my name. They will probably do the same deal as mine on an order. $300 under.

order through Tomygun and have it "drop shipped to a local dealer near you. I live in NJ and am having mine drop shipped to my local dealer for $350 extra. I couldn't even get a plane ticket to ST. Louis for that price. Then there was the fuel price for driving 1000+miles home.

I think only border states can order with "CA approved" sticker... which is what you need.

That being said, I just ordered from two different dealers in Northern Calif. at invoice minus all rebates... came out to about 8k under MSRP on my truck!

One dealer was in Petaluma and the other in Woodland... . that is if the $300 under invoice falls thru for you!

Chaprell Chrysler Dodge, Ada, OK. 1-800-880-2427. Sam Smart does Internet sales. They are

noted for selling at cost plus rebates. People have

bought from them from all over the country. They have had an add in Trailer Life for over ten years.

I have a HO600 3500 dully on the train headed to Okie City now. Got wonderful deal with trade... Cozy, The old fighter/U-2 pilot.

PJereb-- should have noted that I kept rebate. 300 below invoice is a good price in Bay Area

About 1 1/2 drive for you in Livermore. My truck is still on order there. Ordered on Monday March 14, and had a vin # on Thur March 17!.

Give them a call-- Rob Randolph (650)222-9364. Tell Rob I sent you

It hasn't bee talked a lot about on these forums, but steel prices are skyrocketing. I wonder how much this will affect prices in 05.

Let me know if I can help

Greg

Greg,

I would PM or email you, but it seems that I can't. Did you get the truck for $300 under invoice before or after the 2500 rebate? I will contact Rob on Monday at Serramonte Dodge.

Thanks!

Peter

Peter, I'm not set up to receive mail. YOU keep the $2500. The only extra was a $160 PPA (pre paid advertising) and $45 doc fee. No haggle No BS

Let me know how it goes Mon--I'll check this thread Mon Eve

Greg Fritsch

Greg,

Got a quote from them,

MSRP $36100

"invoice" $33165

Their price $32,865

Sounds pretty good, I will order on Friday if the wife will go along with it

PJereb... You might want to run those numbers through Kelly Blue book, Nada or Edmunds... . just take you a few minutes online!

$33165 looks like about 8% off $36100, I've heard you can use between 10 & 11% of MSRP and be close to true invoice... . mine was about 10. 5% off MSRP. ( I saw the computer screen & got the printout as the order was sent to Chrysler)

Of course it might depend on the options you order as to how much off, maybe some are discounted more. Anyway KKB & Edmunds were really close, except for advertising fees, etc.

(Thats why I didn't use ****Direct Internet buying service... their below invoice quote they gave me was hundreds over true invoice!)

Also don't forget the $500 Farm Bureau or $300 business rebate (you only can take one)!

Good luck and remember the deal's not done until the paperwork is signed!

DanDee

DanDee,

Don't worry, I was already looking on KBB.com. The dealers "invoice" price seems to be about a grand high, I will look into it some more before I sign anything... don't worry, he may have tacked on some fluff.

Thanks everybody!

Peter

This dealers price matched Edmunds line for line on my truck. I did check KBB, but wasn't able to price exact truck with options. I'm not sure how a dealer could doctor a factory invoice, but I suppose anything is possible. As invoices are legal documents they would be taking some serious risks.

Insist that qoute is broke down line by line-- print a report from Edmonds to compare each item- do not take so much off sticker, or a percentage. --the factory rebate will lower the "percent off"

Might be worth a PM to Tomygun. He will give you the straight poop on dealer costs. --

I was told farm and business discounts needed documentation, but didn't persue that, as the discounts weren't enough to justify being untruthful

Good luck whatever you decide

As your in construction you probably have seen or heard of steel prices going through the roof. Could be some price increases soon

Greg

Eh, dishonest ???...

You just need to be a member of your local farm bureau for the required time (30 days around here), nothing dishonest about it... Very easy to join and they are super nice folks!

A. Dodge wants the business and offers the discount.

B. The farm bureau puts your membership money to good use, standing up to the "many social and environmental problems" facing us! I can't think of a whole lot of better causes to support than America's small farmers!

C. Membership also gives you other discounts, group insurance & more.

Now, to be a voting member, I believe you DO have to make your primary income from an agricultural endeavor... but you are also very welcome to join as a sustaining member!

All in all a win-win situation for everyone... . dosen't cost the dealer a thing except to file the paperwork with Dodge. :D

DanDee

Sorry, I see by the time my fat fingers typed out a reply, you re-worded it & I think I now understand what you are saying... .

But I don't think you really even have the option of being untruthful, you either are or are not a farm bureau member for the required time... as they do check!:)

Jumping way off my Gravenstein apple box now, DanDee

It is ordered!

I bought it from Rob at Serramonte Dodge. It was painless, good deal, nice guy, no BS.

Greg thanks again for sharing all your info with me! Hopefully my truck will show up shortly after yours. Has your truck been assigned a VIN number yet?

Cant wait!
