What am I doing wrong?

Scott,

I just copied the info and pasted it into a Yahoo search box. The search boxes will usually get there even if the speeling is a little off.

Yea, me and Mike Miller will run an Autozone... yup.

:-laf

We'll sell filters by vehicle length and color.

Your Cummins is leakin'? Let me see, We have these universal rubber "gaskets" in this special package..... :-laf

As a rule I like Napa, but our local store is full of morons. I tried to get new cups for the wheel cyls on my Chrysler and the guy said "I don't think we have those". What an idiot, I flipped through the book and found 'em in less than 2 minutes. It would be nice if some of these parts people knew something about cars and what's available for them.

Travis. .

Intake manifold plate/cover gasket Cummins pn 3938152 desc GSK,COV. Grid heater intake connection gasket(s) Cummins pn 3938158 desc GASKET, INTAKE CONNECTION. Turbo oil drain tube gasket Cummins pn 3937706. Enjoy.

What about all them women in the Autozone and Checker stores selling them parts-wheres the dipstick? Get home and brakes for the other end of truck and they don't deliver either! Got to be more specific! My fault for not looking in the stack of parts I bought!

Did you hear about the blond woman who went to the parts store looking to purchase a new "710" cap? She said she had lost hers and needed a new one.

The parts guy was stumped. "Where is this cap?" he asked.

"It's right there on top of the engine" she replied.

The parts guy asked another employee whom also had never heard of such a thing. The woman demanded, "Give me a pen, I'll draw you a picture!"

As the woman drew her image the men (whom were looking at what she was doing upside down) quickly began to understand.

It's all about perception :p

Dissapointed In Cummins

Well guys still no parts :(

I also looked up the Cummins Quickserve Online thing and that was a job. The first time was an emergency service road side thing... ... ...

I registered my engine serial # and set up an account. I ONLY WANT PART#'s :{ :{ :{

Guys! The parts they list are no where near the numbers I use nor the numbers that Paychk listed for the items I need.  :{ I have some parts here in stock and the #'s are no where even close! Water pump/turbo gaskets/fuel pump/etc.

Why so difficult?

Can't I just get a Parts Book for the Cummins 5. 9 and be done with it???

Part-less in Ohio.

I revisited, thinking I was doing something wrong.

I was looking for the parts I need. I found that EVERY part listed for the cylinder head has the same part number...

I found the same to be true for the lifter cover. All parts listed for the lifter cover assy are the same part number.

I just want some individual gaskets. If PDR can order them individually why can't I locate the numbers myself?

Scott

OK this may take a little time and be lengthy, but here goes

Start Here: select parts at top left

looks just like what I'm in. When I go to parts and I am directed to a list of options I click on the parts listing line something or other and get this very long list of engine areas such as the lifter cover. When I go into that... ... ... . there is a picture of MY cover and ALL associated parts. However. . all I mean ALL the items have the same part number. Not only that but it lists the number of bolt gromments you need. Says I need four when MY truck has SIX. Just isn't working out.

Yes... ... ... ..... I typed in MY engine serial # and it's correct.

wait a minute... ... ... I just looked again and my pages are RED and I have no Related parts to choose from only Option parts Option search and Engine Data Plate.

Do you have the free site or the multi-engine one that's $50. 00 per year?

Paychk, that's it!! It's a "pay site" You are using the pay site and I have the free-bee site. Mine tells me that I have limited access unless I choose to upgrade my status.

Guess I'll be getting parts from a performance dealer who knows the Cummins 5. 9 They seem to be versed in the nomenclature of said machines.

DANG!

I forgot there is a free site, I upgraded a while ago and the thought never occurred to me... Sorry

If yours is a CPL1351 I can get the numbers for you, they should be the same.

Paychk,

Was looking at your serial # and how close it is to mine. I have same CPL.

I took the numbers that you gave and called them in. The parts guy said that is a big help. I hope to have them soon... I hope.

The free site is very limited as to what you can obtain. Makes sense. They want your money.

Going to look at obtaining the parts manual.

Thanks for your help.
