I have heard several of you talking about ording trucks:

1: what does this entail

2: is there a website

3: can you do trade in's on there

I have decided that i will eventually need an extended cab and would like to look at them

Yes there are ways to do it online, however I don''t have any experience with that part of it. Basically I went to a couple of dealers told them what I was looking for, they said well we don't have one nor can we find one with what you want, so we can "order" you one. One dealer said Invoice + $300, the 2nd dealer said Invoice - $500. So we placed the order and bout 8 weeks later the truck was here just as I ordered. You get to specify whatcha want basically.

And since I just found out you have a regular cab I am interested in this Sub box of your behind the seat? How do you like it? How much was it? I would like to put two 12's back there but might be stuck with 10's due to space constraints. I don't want a lil bass machine I just want all around loud.

Kat...

the box behind my seat was custom made by a guy at a store we have down here called "Car Toys"... .

it cost me 150 to have it made and it fits directly behind the seats just under the top tray holders, enabling my to utilize my top trays... .

it sounds great, like you i didn't want a base machine, but it sure makes Keith Whitley sound great #ad

I can get some measurements for you if you would like.

FF1381: The neatest people I have ever dealt with are just down the road from you in Fairfield. I buy my new ones from him and send all my RV customers there. Bossier Country ask for Johnny Bennett. 1 800 BOSSIER or bossiercountry.com A number of TDR guys have bought from them and I have never had so much as a bad word said about them. Good Luck... ... ... ... .

According to Edmund's, you should be able to get a better deal if you order. The reason is that the dealer has to pay interest on anything that sits on the lot. An ordered vehicle doesn't sit on the lot, so there's no interest coming out of the dealer's profit. My dealer admitted this was true when I ordered mine, and the great deal I got confirmed it. It's a lot of fun to order it like you want it, although the wait can be a bummer. It's also neat to see your name on the window sticker - "Built Especially for FF1381".

Check out these sites to get the inside info on what the truck costs the dealer(Invoice or Cost):
www.consumerreports.org
www.driveoff.com
www.Edmunds.com
www.KBB.com (kelly bluebook)
www.NADA.com

Two reasons to order:

1. Save THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!! #ad

2. Get the exact truck of your dreams!

Go to the above sites and research. Consumer reports stands out from the rest in that they go a step further and will give you actual dealer COST (vs invoice). BUT they want you to subscribe to Consumer Reports. Could save you big $$$. The others are FREE. Also check out the Dodge website where you can check out all the current options and features.

When you get past that point, e mail me and I'll give you some practical hints to get the most truck for your buck!

thanks davison

I will keep you informed, i am not ready quite yet to get one, it will be about 5 months, but it doesn't hurt to keep my eyes open... .

for all of you that have sold your trucks outright, how easy is it to sell them and what can i expect to get for the truck that is in my signature... . is it pretty much the 3,000 off the drive off price or is it more off since it is a year old... .

just wondering what to ask for it
thanks guys

Hey Kat, check out http://www.madisound.com/ for speakers. Their specials have great prices and usually include subwoofers. Also, there is software "Subwoofer Design Toolbox" that makes designing the box to fit and sound good a no brainer. It's $26 at http://www.a1.com/mfr-eng/toolbox.htm
