Gooseneck V.S bumper pull?

Over Weight or not

I'm heading out to Oregon this June to see my family. I have not been out there in a long time. Any advice on campgrounds? I will be in the Portland Metro with a weekend trip down to the coast on the Harley. I'd like to find something out off of hwy 26 in between Beaverton and Hillsboro, or Lake Oswego, Lake Grove, Wilsonville any suggestions?

There are a lot of places to stay in Oregon parks. Try this link:

There are some great State parks on the central and north Oregon coast. Beverly Beach, near Newport, and Ft Stevens, near Astoria, are great parks, but you need to try and get reservations during the summer. They're almost always full. If you just need a place to pitch a tent, there are others throughout the area... . :)

When I moved to Hillsboro from Northern California almost 2 years ago I did not find many local RV places. I ended up using a place in Tualitin called Roamers Rest. This is right in the middle of where you wanted to be. Not far from 217. I moved My 27ft 5th wheel there about 2 months before I moved and my wife stayed there while she found a house etc. It was nice enough I did not worry about her being there alone and she liked it. Said it was quite and as nice as it seemed at first.

I hope there are a lot of trees cause the site map makes it look like nothing more then a big parking lot... . :-laf

I think the one gerogej posted is the one I was thinking about.

There are not too many. You are wanting to stay in a big Metro area, there are not a whole lot of campgrounds.

Enjoy your trip, the ride to the coast should be nice.

I grew up in Lake Oswego and have family there and out in Aloha. In fact my uncle was the piloet of the Mooney that crashed last year in the filbert orchard in Hillsboro. It looks like I will be better off trying to get my rig back into my grandfathers place by Tryon creek. It will be a tight fit. He lives at the end of a single lane dead end road. Luckily I have an old family freind with a hose on Cannon Beach that is mine to use. So the plan is to ride the Harley down to Cannon spend a couple day's riding the coast, try out the rain gear:D :D :D

There are some campgrounds along the Rogue River in either direction from Grants Pass that are really nice and you can go fishing is you like.

Did you hear about the jet at the airshow last summer here in Hillsboro. I live about a 1/2 mile from where that was.

I can attest to this as I am from Grants Pass originally. Very beautiful country and LOTS of campgrounds.

I used to date a girl from Grants Pass it is beautifull down there but it is a little further south than my plans this trip.
