Oregon coast RV trip - met Vaughn Merryman

Had a nice trip up to the Southern Oregon coast, and got to drop in on Vaughn Merryman at his very nice Port Orford home - here's a pic:

Nice pictures Gary. Good looking' truck and 5er setup you have there. That Companion looks like a nice easy towing trailer.

The Kit is a fairly low-level trailer, and not too heavy - GCW is about 14-15,000 lbs. We got about 17 MPG in mixed mountain/flat driving according to the overhead computer, which usually checks pretty accurate to hand figured - ran most of the way with the Comp on 3x3 - cruise control set on just over 60 mph, uphill or down - no problems at all...



Oregon was absolutely beautiful, with a grand display of wildflowers still in abundance - campgrounds were nearly empty the first few days, then schools let out...



I certainly envy Vaughn his great location, large shop and beautiful yard/home...

Fortunately, Vaughn has some pretty good "contacts" in the law-enforcement community - so we lucked out...

Thanks for the visit Gary; awfully short though. We do live in a pretty area-------but the wind BLOWs and all winter it RAINS. Where else would you find people burning rhodendron for firewood!
