... how many miles/ months are you guys getting out of yours? I have 116. 3k on mine now in 40 months and would venture a guess there time is coming due!

All depends how the truck is driven. My Dad has a 96 Ford Ranger he bought new. Still has the factory battery in it. Has like 250,000 miles on it. Done oil, brake, plugs, u joints, tires, and that's about it.

My sons 2001 Honda Civic still has the Original and is now 5+ years old. I had a 2000 Yulon XL that the battery went out in 12 months and 3 days. No, GM wouldnt cover it under the 12 month warranty! My 98 CTD lasted about 15 months on one of the two. Didnt want to chance a no start so I replaced both. Costco had them for about $70 each if I remember correctly. That was 1000 cranking amps.

I guess what matters is where you live. This year in Southern Oregon it has been record cold temps, like alot of other places. I know that a battery can be find one day and the next morning it can be totally dead due to the cold temps. I just make it a habit to replace the battery in my wife's car every 2 years, if I own it that long. Myself, I can call AAA and wait for a jump and then take it in for a replacement.

My 1996 CTD ate the batteries in about 3 years. I replaced them with Optima Red Tops and the person I sold the truck to still has them. That would make them 7 years old now.
