Other forum posts to show up in the "View New Posts" & "Get Last Days Posts"

I hope we're not getting a big case of Intellectual Snobbery here.....

This forumn is a collection of folks who have a common reason for belonging - we all understand that fact. But I value the opinion of these folks on lots of issues about a truck, vacation, things to buy etc, that don't really fit into any category except other. Sure you could go to some other "goofy place" where you have no familiarity, but here I think I can value these folks opinions. For example which winch to buy? What about wiper blades, coolant, oil you name it. What's the law here on that? I'm sorry but the other category in my opinion has some of the best stuff, and provides some of the best questions. To be honest, I've asked things there and was surprised at both the lack of responses om one hand, and the great info on the other. I hope this is the type of site that not only allows that but encourages good companionship. If not, then this place isn't what I thought it was!

It is always enjoyable to see a little humor in the posts.

Nobody is objecting to that. I had turned a diesel shop onto

the TDR site last week and was a little dissapointed ,to say

the least , in the direction it was takin.

I know time cures all , but tuesday, out of the first

three pages of posts over 50 % were adolescent at best

and reaked of a couple guys competing for top thread

starter.

I actually had someone ask how can we loose our

knowledge base. Does anyone think people like Piers,

Kondolay,the Banks people,etc. have the time or are going to

try and weed through garbage to keep this site on top.

A good point was brought up about those posts clogging

the search engine making it very inefficient. That's going to

be real enjoyable when you have a problem to solve in a

hurry.

RJ - don't tell them to click on view new posts. Just have them click on the individual forums - that's the way 90% of the users view the forums and if they did that and didn't click on the other forum they'd never see it. The new posts are marked in each forum so you can still tell what posts are new.
