Where can I get stock factory aluminum wheel?

antifreeze-changing?

JNutter,

I have one. It's a standard fueling box and it uses a scotch-lock connector on the fuel pump wire. It is actually made by TST Products. It is similar to the TST Powermax1 but from what I understand Banks has set it to start reducing the fuel at high RPM's and the TST box doesn't reduce the fuel at higher RPM's.

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try to answer them.

Illflem,

You are correct. Sorry, I just know a little about the properly vavled Cummins #ad

Here is what Banks has to say:
OttoMind fuel-calibration plate matches fuel delivery to Banks' airflow improvements, so there's no over-temping or wasted fuel—just power and durability. This one-piece billet, heat-treated chrome-moly steel plate is shaped to provide proper fuel at all speeds and loads.

Hope this helps.

The name “OttoMind” applies to any of our fuel calibration devices. The electronic device used for the 24-valve trucks is manufactured by Banks and utilizes a thermocouple interface to limit fueling based on the exhaust gas temperatures. There is also an interface with the torque converter clutch to limit fuel delivery during the application of the clutch.

TST makes an excellent product, and we have had product built by them in the past. Our current device, however, is engineered and manufactured in-house.

How well would the ottomind work with DD2 injectors

Does that title mean you answer questions on the net? I'm an ironworker forman. Only title I have. But I'm a counsler,a mama,a papa, an engineer, a welder, a punching bad, dart board, etc. You see what I mean.
Just wondering?
Thanks

JNutter,

The OttoMind is an electronic device that interfaces with the injection pump. It will increase fuel delivery or limit additional fuel delivery based on various inputs. The injectors will increase fuel delivery throughout the RPM range of the engine. They are compatible with each other and their function should complement each other nicely.

Preston,
Answering technical questions on the Internet is one of my responsibilities. I respond to threads when I am able to clarify certain technical issues or sometimes to correct erroneous information about Banks product. My other responsibilities at work involve technical training, development of written technical information (including our instruction manuals), and even giving seminars at events and rallies occasionally. The last show that I presented a seminar at was the Tulare showdown. Outside of work I also have other titles (I am human, after all! #ad

I purchased my Ottomind last May. As far as I know it does not have the EGT fuel limiting or TC lockup features. I am considering 275 or DD II's. What can I expect as far as smoke and power?

Thanks, Tom

The OttoMind is calibrated to smoke very little, so you shouldn't get much more smoke than you would with the injectors alone. I would just recommend that you keep your eye on the EGT's using this combination.

PeterT,
How does the latest Ottomind computer attach to the stock wiring harness - scotchlocs? If it is scotchlocs is there a plan to introduce a cleaner connector?

Brian

Brian,
The current product still attaches to the external pump wire. Believe me we have looked for other possibilities, but this is still the most appropriate method for us to use. We opted to not use the connector method like the Van Aaken unit, because there is a certain amount of electronic limitation in the pump itself. By accessing the solenoid where we do (after all the other electronics) we have more mobility in our control of fuel delivery.

We do a gradual decrease in fuel as the temperature approaches 1250 degrees. There is a 25-degree plus or minus control band, so when you are operating around maximum EGT you can expect the temperature to settle out at 1250 within seconds, but everything should transition very smoothly. You would never feel a drastic change in the way that fuel was being delivered. 1250 is our maximum.

Would the Ottomind install be something a "weekend mechanic" could attack with some success? I have rebuilt motorcycle engines and this doesn't look to complicated, but I do not want to harm my truck. It necessarily isn't about saving money but rather getting to know the trucks inner workings. Your opinion is appreciated. I am right down the street from you in San Dimas.

Mark,
All of our systems are designed with the intent that an average person with reasonable mechanical ability could install the system himself. Of course, this will vary depending on the individual. The OttoMind itself is really pretty simple to install. My suggestion would be that you obtain a copy of our Owner’s Manual for the 24 Valve systems. This will show you the installation process in detail, and it will cover all 4 levels of system that we offer. You can obtain this in one of three ways:

1) Since you live close by, you could stop by our facility and ask one of our Power Consultants for a copy (if you need directions, call or check the map on our website),
2) You could contact our Sales Department at 1-800-GET POWER and ask for a copy to be faxed to you,
3) Or if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, I can e-mail you a .pdf file. Just contact me at ptreydte@bankspower.com.

P. S. You and I are pretty much neighbors…I live in Glendora and go to church in San Dimas. #ad

Peter,it nice to have you aboard to answer our Banks questions. I picked my last Stinger plus up at your Azusa facility, while passing through So CA,seems like a great place to work.

My question is do you know which TST cam plate number the Ottomind plate corresponds to?Thanks

Peter,

I came by and picked up the instruction sheet. Seems pretty easy, I was just looking for another opinion. My 18 year old son and I will try and put the kit in after the new year. Good project for the two of us.

Thanks, and which church... . Holy Name of Mary? That is where my wife and I go!

Mark

Illflem,
The cam plate profiles that we use are specifically selected for each application. However, in SOME cases the last digit of our part number coresponds with the TST numbers.

Mark,
The church I attend is called Newsong. We just finished a new building directly across the street from San Dimas High.
