We have a saying in the aerospace industry called the "rule of the three F's": "if it flys, floats, or f***'s, RENT IT!"

I've been reading articles about those being "ready for release" for at least 15 years. Being a pilot and knowing what the average driver drives like I know the truth of the matter is you won't be seeing that as a feasable technology for a LONG LONG time. No matter how easy you make the physical control of the airplane there's a lot of thinking that has to be put into the equation that I'm sorry to say at least 90% of the drivers on the road simply don't possess.

The roads and Freeways are crazy enough. I wouldn't want to see or experience what would be going on above my head, house or ??? How would you regulate it?
I think this is many years away and maybe never. I'm thinking in the future sometime Uncle Sam might shut down private flying anyways.

What Steve said. Half the idiots out there couldn't pass the test for a pilot's license, and you know this thing will need one.

Klenger, that is FAS. I don't care who you are, that is funny.

Well just like now, probably half the idiots on the road now don't have the skills to realize what a license is for or insurance for that matter.

I guess if these contraptions are the soon to be mode of transportation I better stock up on some Nike's. I fly no where and that includes even if its me at the helm... ... . Andy

Anyway the Discovery Channel is suspose to have some sort of story on the Skycar some time in May. I think around the time frame of May 17,18,or 19 to any who are interested. I believe a story about it aired on 60 minutes here last week.
