... I just got the Dec. issue, and they did a write up on Carlisle. Quote from article"In the 'what the heck was that?'class,Doug Smith of Hummelstown,Pa,wowed the crowd when he maxed out the dyno. His'01 Ram sports a 6 cylinder. It may be a six,but it's a Cummins turbo diesel six with some 'extras'. The diesel engine benefits from bigger injectors and fuel pump, along with nitrous and a propane injection system. The STOCK automatic transmission connects to a stock rear, and could rip a house off its foundation"... I wish I could have been there but I had to work. I will be there next year,I hope they let diesels run again after Doug scared the bejesus out of them;) . And I don't think Dougs auto is stock either:rolleyes: . Well done Doug, did they ever get back with ya on doing a feature article?

That is too funny. But why didn't anybody tell me my stock transmission will hold that much power? ;) :D

VERY cool.

The part about "The STOCK automatic transmission connects to a stock rear, and could rip a house off its foundation" is interesting. I guess I did the DTT for nothing. I do like the part about ripping a house of it's foundation though. Maybe that could be a new event. :D

Mine is here also...

I gotta love the stock transmission and rear deal,LOL. wonder if jetpilot and I woke some eyes up now. Hats off to the Doug for all his hard work and the show he put on with his truck in front of a bunch of non-believers. After they went diving for cover I'd say they were all believers in what these "old mens trucks( a comment I heard there)" can really do.

Jetpilot. .

This year was a blast, next year will be better. Congrats on the article and I am certain Stoney(the photographer) will never be the same again. Maybe we can get some other trucks to join us next year... ... . Andy

P. S. -I am not sure if I ever posted some of the shots from that show with our resident joystick jockey and his slick black bottle rocket, but,I'll get them back up here for those to see. Remember now,he barely fit into his truck after Carlisle with all the autographs he signed, wonder how he will look after he signs all of our magazines,LOL... ...

the funniest part of the whole thing was watching the guy with the yellow prostreet blown 71 cuda (that won last year with some were around 700hp) pull back to the show area after doug ran with out even putting the car on the dyno

Doug I will have to bring the lil red next year I won the dyno run 2 years ago with the blown 72 Road Runner( with a number of 468hp) the dyno stuff there sure has moved up alot in 2 years George

Anybody know the other Ram that made the article. Owner is Jamie Passon.

Dougs Truck,

..... The diesel engine benefits from bigger injectors and a fuel pump. .

Do they mean a "Pusher Pump"? I didn't think Doug has the P-7100 conversion done. Or is it a modified VP-44 like Diesel Dynamics sells. ?

Be nice if next year the top TEN hp numbers came from diesels, what will they say? The loud, stinky bunch have taken over!

Eric,

Maybe you could talk to Banks and get them to bring Sidewinder, just like they did Muncie this year! Wait a sec... ... . ;)

I made every effort to to be Jetpilots copliot down there, but sled pulling left me mangled that weekend.

It is on the schedule for next year!!!:D

Bill. .

The second truck was one of the 10(counting Dougs) diesels who dynoed that day. His truck had one of the Banks packages on with the High Ram addition. There were other trucks that made more hp and torque than him and did not get noticed.

Eric. .

Thats what I wanted to see was more dyno runs from diesels there. Carlisle promotions were not going to allow us to spin this year as they have not in the past. It took MANY emails back and forth and some phone calls between myself and Dynotek to make it happen. They(Carlisle) had a bad experience a few years ago with the truck show when they brought the Dynotek group in for it and only 3 trucks spun all weekend long. BUT,this was the truck show it rained on most of the weekend also. They also had concerns for saftey and I'd still believe they did not want to see us dyno as they claimed there was no interest in High HP/TQ diesels. The Dynotek owner has already confirmed for me he WILL have the big program with him next year and wants to see more of us flog the roller. Heck he had more fun than than us with what happened. The gentleman who owned the big inch blown Cuda was a friend of Dynoteks and after Doug ran he collected a refund and parked his car back in the show field saying he was not wasting his time or motor because he knew he could not compete.

It was too bad I could not get any more of the east coast heavy hitters for this show. Sleddy was DOA and I got NO response from the post I put up for the show, except for those M-D members who attended, along with a few other TDR members who were there for the car show. I am going to got at next year harder and get the TDR a club tent for those who wish to attend, club challenge was and has been won by the N. E. O. H. A every year and it would not take many trucks to do it. it It would be nice to drag that trophy home for the 13,000+ TDR members here and to show the NEOHA they are not all that.

Next year gang,it will be gasser clobberin time and maybe we can trip the Hemi owners off the club challenge monoply pole. I'll be there, but, then again,I am always there. Ask those TDR members who were there,it is the best all Mopar show going,period..... Andy

P. S. -Bob Stone, the photograher who did the pics for the dyno challenge, gathered the info for the challenge and may have not understood what Doug told him. Doug has and still uses the VP44 pump on the slick black bottle rocket. By the way. I've known Stoney a long time,we go way back with Division 1 points races, and he NEVER moved as fast as he did that day when Doug whacked the loud pedal and sent him sailing to evade the plume. You had to be there to hear Stoneys comments,he had us all in tears.....
