It sounds as if McCain, Schummer, and Clinton are at it again. This time they want to do away with gun shows, or make it so invassive that nobody will want to attend. See if you agree. I have both sides of the story.

I for one disagree with it. Just look at what has happened to the crime in Great Britain and Australia since guns have been taken away from law abiding citizens.

I right there with you, sdalton. We have to stop these continual nibbles they take at our rights and the shooting sports culture, or soon both will be eaten away.



It irks me that so many of my fellow shooters ignore these cunning attacks from the likes of McCain. If they don't patronize gun shows themselves, they probably don't care much at all if they go away. Even a lot who DO go to the shows don't get very exercised about it, figuring there will always be the local Mom'n'Pop gun store to go to, or at least K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Well, news flash for everybody - at the rate that Wal-Mart is shoving the competition out of bidness out there, we could soon end up in a single-source market in some places for guns and ammunition. If this occurs, all it would take is a K-Mart style decision from Wal-Mart to quit selling guns and ammo, and a lot of folks would be up the creek without a paddle as far as being able to buy anything to exercise their rights with. Arggh.



Sadly, the McCain's of the world have great, great allies in our own community - namely, ourselves. If you go to gunshows or gun stores nowadays you see signs festooned everywhere "No One Under 21 Admitted Without Parent or Legal Guardian", in a lot of stores they post "No One Under 18" with parent. I have asked several about this, and they say it is a federal law that minors can't have access to firearms. I have yet to see this code listed anywhere, as far as I know it is only illegal to SELL minors firearms and handgun ammo. Yet everyone seems to accept it as the gospel, and as a result in a lot of gunshows and gun stores children are about as welcome as a porcupine at a balloon blowing festival.



A lot of people think this is just fine, but here's another news flash - children are the future of our sport, and they are the ones who will be voting someday on our gun rights. With the treatment our shooting community shows kids a lot of times, we darned sure aren't winning many friends for the future. I know for sure that when I was a boy, and would go to the gun store while Mom was buying groceries, if I had had a couple of crotchety old SOB's gripe at me and kick me out of the store I probably would not have retained my interest very long.



Come on, fellow shooters! Take a little extra effort and be friendly to children, take them to the range, answer their questions, just try being nice. Jeez anybody can be a grouchy old smart alecky SOB, what's the point? They sure don't give awards for it. Next time you talk to a kid at your table at the gun show, or at the gun store, or at the range, remember someday that little rascal will be in the voting booth with a hand on the lever to vote for President Hillary's new All Gun Confiscation bill. Give him reason to PROTECT our rights... !

It's a common misconception that gun shows are a weapons bazaar that anyone can purchase anything with out the proper credentials and required paperwork being done.

The media plays this line so much that I would't expect anyone that don't go to shows to know the REAL facts.

Our legislators that are sworn to uphold our Constitution push for these unconstitutional measures (laws) and the media (who cherish their 1st Amendment) play along.

It's going to take a major change in this country to right these wrongs that have been happening to us. I can only hope that we wake up before it's too late. IMO that wont be too far from where we're sitting now.

Gun control is a total joke, the only guns that can be controlled are the ones owned and registered by people that aren't out useing them to break laws. Most guns use in a violent act are not purchaced leagly and aren't registered, how do you controll that??

It is proven to work out for governments, look at how well it work out for Nazi Germany, sarcasim, when that insane nutbar Hitler was running things. Is that what we have to look for in the future??? I seriously hope not!!!

If you all worried about important things like our economy and keeping our country strong and our children safe,as much as you worry about a stupid gun this country whould be better off,this really eats me up,why dont you all take that energy and use it for something that really matters instead of a dumb *** hand gun,I have guns but I don't cry over it,I worry about keeping my family safe and keeping food on the table and if you think a gun will really protect you you are wrong,you kill someone even in your home you are done,you will be in jail,but stay on your high horses and when real problems creep up on you lets see how important that stupid hand gun will be. Im tired of seeing our kids thinking guns are cool because they are not cool it is just a sissys way of feeling like a big man. Sure its in the constitution and the constitution is important,but this country is falling apart all around us and to sit there and worry about a gun,why don't you worry about how your congressmen and any the government is spending our dollars,making the rich richer and the poor poorer,and let worry about how many of these fat cat CEOs are stealing us blind and lets see how many of them do time for it. Worry about that,instead of worrying about who has the biggest gun,how childish is that.

Worry about the schools your kids attend,how safe are they,worry about keeping drunks off the roads.

And who ever said that registered guns are not used in illegal activities you better check your facts again,our kids are killing each other with very registered guns that are in the house,registered guns are stollen all the time and used to rob banks and shoot you as you walk down the street.

I don't need no gun to make myself feel safe. And as you are probably thinking now,this dumb *** liberal don't know what he is talking about,well I am not a liberal and I sure am not a conservative,I am just a person who thinks there are more important things to worry about.

Another thing we ellect these politicians into office,why don't you all harness all this energy about guns and put it to use and make something happen. This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,see that first word UNITED,well we are not united we all cry and moan but never do we do anything about it,this is why other countrys walk all over us because we let it happen.

We have all the guns in the world,but were in Osama Bin Laden,we don't have him,and now we are shifting out attention to Iraq,well why don't we finish one job first and get Bin Laden?Why. I will tell you why because our government can't,they want to shift you over to something else to take our minds off him,because all the guns we have can't kill one man. So do something useful and direct your energy to something like why are we shifting attention to something eles.

This is you government use it,make them work for there pay we put them there,and quit worrying about if you will be able to purchase your next gun legally. .

Dave I'm not sure if at 47 years old I still qualify as a "child".

It would be cool to get the cheaper meals and airline tickets though.



However, My concern is NOT whether or not I can go to the store and buy a gun tomorrow.

My concern is whether or not a politician, who hires his own bodyguard, will pass legislation tomorrow turning ME into criminal for attempting to protect all that I hold dear.

It HAS happened before (Australia comes to mind, check THEIR crime statistics after the "Gun-Grab") and WILL happen here if the panty-waisted gun grabbers have their way.

When you cook a frog or a lobster, do you boil the water first and then drop him in?

Heck no... . he'd try to jump out.

BUT if you stick him in the pot and turn the heat up a little at a time he's cooked before he realizes what happened.

The same goes for the gun grabbers.

They KNOW that they can't take them all away at one time, so they're content to pass a law making one after another type of weapon illegal. Eventually we're all sitting around hoping that a cop will have time to come to our aid when we need them.



Dave, If someone's attempting to do harm to your loved ones, I pray you won't have to call a politician to protect you.
