Something odd - that's Japanese (or Chinese) next to the names, and Arabic on that third one. They're really cool pics, just wondering about the text.

They were originally taken from China's space program, and annotated with Al Quada secret messages revealing the plans to take over the solar system, with Earth being the first target. The photos were found in Sadam's archives. :D

Aha! Then the text by the arrow says "Where we hid the WMD's" and points to the precise spot in our solar system that they can be found. :-laf

When did you study Arabic? ;) You're not an Al Queda operative are you? Sounds like you know just a bit too much about those messages. :D

Man, I just know it IS Arabic. I was a dit-dah in the Army (Morse interceptor) but I knew some Arabic linguists - those guys were insane.

I tell you what - if I were an Al Qaeda operative, I'd get ahold of some conventional explosives and plant'm on a gasoline tanker passing over either the Wilson Bridge or the American Legion Bridge here outside DC. I could cripple this area for years and never have to touch a WMD to do it. This might be better said in the Political forum - but I think it's only a matter of time before we see another attack, and just like 9/11 we'll all be standing around wondering why we didn't think of that sort of attack.

Worse than a snow storm when they tell all the federal workers to go home @ the same time? :p

Yeah - 'cause the snow is always gone in a day anyway and traffic recovers. Take out ANY major highway and everything will go completely to hell. Take out a Potomac crossing bridge and it will go to hell for a LONG time. And how do you protect a tanker truck from something like that? If your terrorist is actually not suicidal enough to drive up next to it with explosives, he could always fire a LAW into it from a hillside. It's awful to think about but it needs to be thought about.

Tanker maybe wouldn't do anything though. Remember the tanker that crashed under the 495 overpass right at the 270 split on the MD side? Burned under the overpass and shut down the road for a couple of days while it was inspected. But no damage (other than the driver getting killed).

That's because the tankers (there was another tanker that hit a bridge abutment on I95 a few years ago) weren't surrounded on all sides by stopped traffic - which when covered in flaming gasoline would also explode. On the Wilson Bridge (the old one, not the new span that will open in June), if it blew right over one of the drawspan hinges, it could drop the whole center span into the Potomac. That would only cripple things until June - the first new span opens then and they'll be tearing down the old bridge to build the second new span then. I dunno about the structure of the American Legion Bridge - I hope it could stand up to an explosion better.

Which is exactly what I thought about every day crossing the Wilson bridge to go to work after 9/11. That's one of the reasons I moved. :D

Jeez, you guys are nervous, watch 24, Unit, etc. and it will be handled in an hour (well actually less cause of commercial time). :p

If the government would watch TV, they would have solution to everything!! :-laf

Man, I'm 7 miles from work and my commute is 45 minutes these days - an hour if there's any traffic problems at all. Until you've experience traffic in Northern Virginia (almost as bad as LA or SF), you just don't know what a major terrorist strike could do to the roads. The 9/11 terrorists that crashed into the Pentagon could've done this area more damage for a longer time by crashing that plane into a Potomac River bridge - not to in any way diminish the losses at the Pentagon.

Heck, I have to walk through the sagebrush and across the highway to get to work. :(

I just KNOW that one of these days a turbin-headed-illegal-immigrant-kamikazee driver is going to... ... . well..... thump thump - speed bump... no more ol' dog:eek:
