OK... I just looked again for a fitting to lube my outer tie rod ends, like my service schedule says needs to be done often. The problem is they have no zerk fittings. Are these ball joints sealed with lubricant? Or what am I missing here?

Below is what mine looks like (identical to my early 2004 manual)

Thanks for any advice and experiences on how to lube these fittings.

Which ones? Ball joints or tie rods? Tie rods are greaseable, ball joints are not.

Don't be confused by the the placement of the "nuts" in the diagram. The two outermost "2's" are what you need to grease. Zerks are on the bottom.

Looked again... . and there were the zerk fittings right next to the wheels. I must be getting too old to do this stuff. :) Nah... I'll just write it off to lack of sleep.

Thanks for the wake up call Cattletrkr.

Recommendations for the type grease I should use and where to buy it... . anyone?

I've been using Redline Synthetic grease for years. It appears to stay in the various fittings very well and is suppose to be compatible with all petrolium based greases. Besides, it's easy to see the red grease as it is forced out of the seals!
