Wife and I left home yesterday for a round trip of about 500 miles to pick up our order of 125 larger B&B trees and shrubs. I normally leave with enough fuel to get to the tree farm and part way back before stopping for fuel - always at the same place that is about a mile out of our way. Our load was extra HEAVY due to all the rain that has fallen last few days. Turned in to get fuel and the truck stop had BURNED DOWN !!!!!!! And we need fuel NOW as I usually cut it close. Now it another 18 miles or so to the next fuel stop. Now I'm a little worried. I've got my wife with me on this run, got a big GN that is overweight for sure, 175 miles from home, and nothing but two lane roads without shoulders to pull out of the way if I do run out of fuel. Worse yet- Wife is hungry, worried about walking, and needs to potty. Well we made it to fuel stop meant for cars. Pulled in and blocked off every pump in the place. Took on a tad over 36 gals + fuel additive. Had to back out on U. S. 412 into busy traffic to get underway again. Wife got a little easier to get along with once she took care of a little business and got something to eat. Says she ain't never goin with me again but says that every time she does go. After over 30 years of marriage she still loves me - some days more than others. :D :cool: :-{}
