Will the 2001-2001. 5 set an over boost code if the the waste gate closed off. . (stock truck) I know it will not really be an increase in HP and the max psi I will be about 23 or so. . I have seen the 2002's not set a code, was just curious about the 01. 5. . (or is it just stored in the computer as a max???) I will be adding a fueling box soon...

Thanks for any info. .

Well. . I clamped of the waste gate line, and 24psi of boost, and a smoother acceleration... I sure can tell when the fuel start cutting off now. . especially in 3rd. . (could be the FP, too) I checked the codes before and after. . and none showed up using the 3 key turn method...

Installed a new fuel filter, but I still see 4. 5-5psi at WOT. . (it was 3 at WOT before the new filter) I'll see if I can rig up another gauge to check the on in the pillar...

It will set a code if you reach the limit which at 23 lbs you might not have reached yet. When it does, the check engine light will come on.

Thanks Alan, Are you sure about the 01. 5's... I have reached 24 on the guage, at the air horn. . but it could be a little less by the time it reaches the MAP sensor in the head... I have access to a Scanner so I can clear the code if I need too. . (but I would rather not hassle with it. . )

Thanks for the info...

(The Comp box is on order. . )

I've had my 01 to 23 (I have SPA gauges that hold peak settings) without setting a code so I know they will go there. Eventually, if you get the MAP voltage high enough, it will set the check engine light and corresponding code. The engine light will go out after three starts but the code will remain set. Later.

Thanks...

Thanks Alan. . the box should be here on Tuesday... I'll take the clamp off the waste gate until I get the elbow...

I did set a code on my truck sometime back, I had my box off and when I pluged it back in I didnt make a good connection and the check engine light came on, when I checked the codes it was 1693. I went to the dealer where Ive made friends with the mechanic, he told me that after a certain number of restarts the light would go out, and after so many more restarts (dont rember how many) if the computer didnt see the problem anymore the code would go away, well he was right after about 2 weeks it disapered and hasent been back.
