Over Drive Sol. change

Can the Overdrive solonoid be changed in the driveway? I am getting a code 45 and I have no overdrive. Looking around, it dosn't seem to difficult but I thought I would ask. Murphy lives at my house:-laf. Also is it ok to drive this way for the time it takes to order and get the part?

The answer is yes it can !!Oo. It took a day to let all the trany fluid drip off. No real problems other than finding the proper solenoid!! Hurah ... Back on the road again !
