Installed a BD-Power Boost fooler and elbow, took the truck out and got 30PSI boost... . But I also got the overboost DTC. Could this mean the Fooler is bad or is the overboost detected at the wastegate and sent to the MAPI... ... . Would tightening the allen head screw on the boost elbow make any diff?

Dtc

Not sure what all the BD-boost fouler kit includes, but if it just installs on the wastegate control line to increase the boost, the code will still be set because the MAP sensor is what sets the code in the ECM/PCM and also de-fuels when ever boost exceeds the 20+/-psi limit. My waste gate diaphragm has been leaking for a year now and I always have that code (P0234) set.

Trouble code with boost fooler

Talked to the folks at BD power, they said I will still get the trouble code but I wont get the check engine light.

Sounds kinda strange as the boost fooler is supposed to trick the MAPI Sensor into believing Turbo Boost has not been exceeded.

If the MAPI sensor sets the trouble code based on overboost then you would get the check engine light because the onboard computer flags that DTC with a check engine light... . therefore you would assume the boost fooler isn't working. . yes???

Swew, hope that makes sense and or doesnt make sense and someone can tell me why I am getting an overboost DTC with a boost foolery installed?
