Evan (or any and all other electrical Gurus in TDR land):

I have an idea but I don't know how to implement it. Since you are one of our electrical gurus, maybe you can help with an idea I had. I can sometimes follow a wiring diagram, but I think this may be more than I can figure out on my own.

The way our trucks are made, we need to turn off the overdrive when running around town, which is where most of us are anyway, until we finally get to the open road and have to turn it back on again. What would it take to switch the Overdrive Button on our automatics so that when we start our trucks the overdrive would be turned off? Then when we get to the highway, we could press the button and turn on the overdrive.

Just a thought.

Thanks bunches for any and all help.

I had one on my truck for a while. Didn't like it so I took it off. I kept forgetting about it when I left town on the highway. The OD light still works the same way. If it's on the OD is locked out.

So if I undedrstand you right, all you want to do is disable OD at startup, and NOT have to push the button...

Easy!!!

All you have to do is give the OD circuit one ground pulse during startup, and OD will be disabled until you manually activate it. Simple have a relay triggered by the starting circuit that will give the OD circuit the ground pulse needed. Make sense? PM me is you need more details about the wiring. I have hooked it up a few times in both Dodges and Fords. Works great. :D
