I have a 1995 2500 4X4 with an automatic. The vehicle has 179,500 miles on the odometer. Last month the transmission cooler hose going to the oil to air cooler on the left front of the truck failed while on the interstate. The truck dropped out of overdrive and went back in about 3 times. I traveled about two miles after it started acting in this manner.
I called road service and they delivered a case of oil. I bypassed the cooler with the other hose, added 6 quarts of fluid and was on my way. Everything worked but overdrive. Since the failure, I have driven the truck about 1500 miles, no problem except the lack of overdrive.
I need overdrive. What is my next step??
Thanks in advance for your help.
