Overdrive gear lost??

While getting on the freeway... i noticed the truck wouldn't actually drop into 4th gear {locked} {overdrive}:{ it will tach out at like 2100 rpm by 75 mph... where before i would be around 1900 or so... . does this indicate a T/C problem... see signature... Oo. ... i am getting a BD t/c / v/b soon here anyway, but does it sound bad already for the stock one?

Sounds like the torque converter not locking, the rpm indicate you are in OD. Does it lock or not in 3rd? Might be the throttle position sensor, TPS, instead of the TC clutch.

I concur with Boldt's wagon, on mine if I unlock the converter at that speed that is were my RPM's are at but you should be able to tell if the converter is locked or not!

The TPS is new... it almost feels like when you change from 3. 55 gears to 4. 10's ... :--) i ordered my BD stuff today anyway... it is time
