Archived overfilled oil by 1/2 qt What should I do

Help over filled oil what should i do. Removing the drain plug and getting it back on is not going to be pretty.

If you crack the drain plug enough, It will seep through the drain plug without having to remove it. That may work.

However if it's just over by 1/2 a quart I would let nature take it's course and let it filter out of the blowby bottle... but It will be a little messy

Take the filter off and pour 1/2 of it out if it bothers you. That would be the easiest way if you ask me.

That's one of the advantages of the stock plug, it will drain the oil without removing it.

For 1/2 quart I wouldn't do anything.

Thanks to all who responded I think I'll try and drain a little out just for peace of mind.

Don't worry about it most dealers put 12 in when they change it. It won't hurt anything.

I've been putting in 3 gal. for the past 7 years and almost 100k. No problem.

I, as well, regularly overfill as much as two quarts. It is nothing.
