How do I know when these two things are bad? I only have 59,000 on my 97 so I don't think that these are going but I what to know for incase measures. I think my timing has slipped because I did the simple test of reving it up at semi cold temps and it sputtered. I saw how to do this in another post. I also want better mpgs so soon I am advancing the timing to 15. 5 and doing the first valve job since I have own it. A few thousand miles. I was just wondering?

Thanks

Russ

PS. I have 245's on my truck and was wondering what tire pressure they should be at? I haul a 3 horse gooseneck trailer if that means anything.

I think if its the shutoff valve it wouldnt start..... the overflow valve would give you low power... get a guage and check the pressure... ... thats where I would have started... . I just changed my overflow valve and what a difference, even though I had no sympton of a failing valve, but I gained 10psi of fuel pressure... . Rick

If the overflow valve is bad there will be a bad power loss when towing anything very heavy, like cant get over 60mph unless flat on floor.
