Need to replace my Overflow valve, so naturally I check in here first.

Geno's has them for the high 60's, and there was some discussion of 2 other sources for the Bosch valve, one on E-bay, and one from Precision Diesel Injection & Turbo, Inc.

I called down and Marty was busy, but I told the very nice lady I wanted the overflow valve. $54. 00 + $14. 00 for the shipping.

Not sure why it cost them 14 for the shipping the guy on E-bay is still selling them for $39. 95 + $3. 50 for shipping.

I bought mine from E-bay!

If anything is wrong with the E-bay unit, I'll throw in an update so all will know, but did want to let you know that Precision Diesel's price had changed significantly.

Enjoy the heat! In a few months we'll all be back to snow blowing!

Hate that I missed Larry B's. Perhaps it's because I'm not a regular Ebay user, but when I searched for overflow valves, that is the only one I came up with, dang it!

Floyd, real glad to hear that. The picture has some sort of hole in the top, and my stock one does not, kinda worried me. The guy on Ebay shipped it out about an hour after I placed the order, so I'm expecting it in the next day or two. Looking forward to a smooth idle again, AND using the A/C at stop lights!!

Thanks guys, always a pleasure and something to learn here.

The truck idle is so rough, it will not keep steady. The A/C will pull the engine down sufficiently for it to just die. Turn A/C off, it runs OK, but only OK. Loses power, the hotter the weather, the worse the problem.

BTW, the Foster truck website, lists the overflow valve at $39. 95, this is where I have always bought my Larry B's parts. Google sends you there first for the Larry B stuff. Finally did find the Larry B site that listed the part for $24. 95!! Oh well, better luck next time.

At least the guys that search the forum for the overflow valve will run across this comparison.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Email him, and say, hey, you have a lower price! How about I get the lower price? Can't hurt, and you certainly won't get it if you don't ask.

gcorron, you probably need to up the idle (low idle screw at end of throttle linkage toward back side of p7100(auto trans= idle 750 to 800 rpm in drive with A/C on. 5spd 780 rpm in neutral with A/C on), or you could have cracks in rubber fuel hoses(especially return one).
