I have never checked the overflow valve, but was wondering if Piers valve is any different than the ones at the Cummins dealer here . They were about the same price.

While we're on the subject, I included a valve in an order from Piers and now wonder if should just go ahead and put it in or wait for mine to go bad. Mileage on truck is 83,000 and a 94.

I had 210K on my factory original. Had a winter time "tick" sound. Like many though it must be the overflow. "It has to be bad". After change, tick sound still present, truck ran and sounded the same. Like a few parts I have replaced on the engine, I keep the old ones because they are good spares.

When mine went bad (300,000miles) it showed up as a power loss when towing, no other symptoms at all. I couldnt get my TT over about 60mph without being flat on the floor. When empty it wasnt evident at all.
