overhead console question

How do you set the automatic garage door opener? Also when you put it on C/T and hold reset for 10seconds a setting comes up that says VAR and has 15 different settings. What does that do?



I do not have the instruction manual or I would look it up, Thanks. :-laf

You hold the two outside buttons on the garage door opener for about 20 seconds to erase the old code. It either starts blinking or stops, to let you know it is reset (I don't remember which). Then, hold your garage transmitter close to to the counsel, and depress that button at the same time as you hold the button on the counsel you want to "train". Watch for the blinking again. Never seen the VAR thing. I'll have to look.

The VAR thing is for setting the magnetic variation for different areas of the country. Look up the local variation on Google and use that to correct your compass for your area. If you can't find it, let me know where in the country you are, and I'll tell you what to use.

foil freak is right except for one thing, if your remote doesn't train your homelink button, and if your opener is a rolling code type,(I'm sure it is)then break out a small step ladder and get a friend, because you will have to push the button on top of the garage door opener itself, while a friend holds the button your wanting to train,and this will definitely train your homelink, good luck
