Blasted clip that keeps it closed broke this morning:{. Now it hangs and blocks the rear view mirror. Any leads on a new / previously owned one. Just the glasses holder part / door is needed, lt. gray.

Same year truck, same thing happened to me about a year ago. Should be able to order just the door from your dealer.

Andy

I checked the dealer and they will sell you the entire console assembly only! The door itself isn't available. I used velcro to repair mine.

This stupid part just broke on mine too. So the only way to buy it from the dealer is as an assembly?

Looks like salvage yard time.

Mike

Just to let you guys know, I called the local dodge dealer and he says that he has the "door" in stock. I'm going by after work to see if it's the right thing. If so I'll post the part number.

Mike

Do you guys actually use that thing? I have two pair of sunglasses and neither of them fit in it. I think it's pretty useless. The only part I use is the garage door opener to keep my ID handy.

Here is the listing from the model year 2000 parts catalog:

SN96TL2AA DOOR, Sunglass Bin, w/Liner (Beige)

Lists at $20. 85.

I notice you mention "lt. gray". Is that the color of the door? The only one the 2000 parts catalog mentions showes beige.

Thomas,

My interior is Agate. Door panels are Agate (dk. gray) but, the headliner and overhead console are lt. gray?

Thanks for the info.

Joe Mc

I've been out driving. The headliner/overhead consul in my model year 2000 Ram could easily be described as light gray. D/C probably calls it beige. As I recall there is but one color headliner/consul. I'll bet the one I listed matches your rig.

Just a little info

The console color of beige is the neutral color on all the trucks. I had the door latch brake on me last year and when I picked up the part I told the guy it was the wrong color. He told me to take it out and check cause he only showed the one color available. Once I took the door out to the truck it magically turned light gray. ;)

It will match all the interior's on the 98 and up 2nd Gens.

Good Part #

Thanks guys - the part number Thomas provided was indeed a good number up to 2002 and they are all the same color. The dealer I called (Greenfield, in Hamilton, N. J. ) had the part in stock, since I asked for "my" price (used a buddy's shop name) $15. 63.

Thanks again. Gotta love the TDR!!!!!!!!Oo.

Thanks guys! A week after reading this post mine broke as well! Guess I will be heading off to my friendly neighborhood dealer.

P. S. I notice that you guys are talking about light gray being the only color available which the parts manual states as well. I would sware that the color of mine would be considered tan or camel? Is this still the same? Mine does not look like the picture of that which was posted on another post (https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70695).
