Overhead console Wiring

I have a 2005 ST 2500. I would like to have the overhead console but i dont know if it comes already wired from factory can anyone help me out???

If it is like my '06, there are no spare wires anywhere. I have had my interior apart several times and not an extra plug or harness to be found. It is only an SLT so the harness appears to be specific to the option level of the truck.



Do you want the overhead just for the domelights or do you want the Compass/Temp feature as well???



Are you good at wiring or are you a scotchlock kinda' guy???



I have recently added an overhead Compass/Temp unit in my '97, wasn't that bad a job. You only have to run a few wires to the fuse panel and light switch.

Rest of the feeds needed can be obtained from the roof marker lights (if so equipped) and the dome light.



I have a hectic schedule for the next week or so but I will answer you as I can.

Thanks for all the info Mwilson. i guess ill just have to pass on the whole ordeal it seems like alot more work than i was hoping for. something i wanted, but id rather spend the money on an Edge insight CS

Didn't mean to discourage you but better if you know what are getting into.



A salvage yard would be the way to go, then you can get the temp sensor for the front of the truck and as many harness ends as you need.



Got my unit for 65. 00 and then had to buy sensor and pigtail, that added another 40. 00 so not a bad deal and it looks / operates as it should.



Will be dealing with 8 wires if you install it correctly.
