The trip odometer on my overhead stopped working. I reset and it stays on 00. All the other functions work just fine. I did the self-test from the shop manual and it said all was ok. Do I need to replace the whole thing. Thanks.

deelee what year is your truck? I take it the trip meter is sitting on zero. Is this the message you get when performing the self test?

b. Failed Self Test (EVIC only), FAIL (CMTC) -

The electronics module has an internal failure. The

electronics module is faulty and must be replaced.

my truck had 607837 miles on and my dealer replaced my overhead(SOP OTIS MODULE) $250. 00. That didnt fix problem so they had to replace instrument cluster because it was sending a corrupt message to otis module. Instrument cluster/labor $712. 80. My dealer took off total paid for otis because that wasnt the problem. Now everything works fine. be forewarned, if you have over 500,000 miles on your truck, the odometer reading will be set to 0. Wasnt too happy about that. If I had known about that I wouldnt have put a new instrument cluster in. Hope this helps and good luck.
