When I used pre and post thermocouples in my truck I went to the local truck dealer, he had Isspro wires in several different lengths. When I bought my Isspro pyro it said it was calibrated for a certain range of length wires.

Go with what dmurdock suggested! I played with all the stuff you are talking about and wound up with the quality Auto-Meter gauges. The wiring from the box will solve all your problems!
