I am going to put a set of auto meter gauges in my '05 and can't decide where to put them. I want to put in the mount that Geno's sells, for by the rear view mirror. Has anyone had problems with them installed there? Was routing the wires through the headliner easy? Or should I just put them on the A-pillar? I just would like to not lose my grab handle if I can help it. Opinions please...

I didn't want to lose the grab handle either so I went for the column mount. What I lost was seeing the cruise and 4wd indicator as they block the display at the bottom of the tach and speedo.

I have the rear view mirror pod and love it. The install is easy to due, it may take about 4 hrs. I bought everything from geno's including the matching Mopar paint. Follow the directions and the install will go great. I have Diprocol gages and they match very nicely. ANyone who has used a screw driver could complete the install. The hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry. If I can find my pics I'll post. good luck.

It depends on how many guages you want to put in, but you can put an a pillar guage pod on while keeping the grab handle. I went to Dodge and bought the pillar for a SRT-10(it comes with one pod opening) and swaped it out for mine, simple as it gets. I put the boost guage in that one and I'm gonna do the overhead rear view mirror pod also for the rest. I'm not sure how many other guages I'm gonna put in so I haven't decided on the 2 or 3 pod one yet. I want to go with the 3 pod one but if I remember correctly, The line of guages I'm using doesn't have 4 different gueages yet.

The install is pretty easy but be careful when you put the velcro tabs on the pod and window. Get it wedged up fully against the headliner before pushing it onto the window. Also, remember you have to trim the pod to fit. Not hard but it must be done or it won't fit against the headliner. Trim it, paint it, then install it. One more thing... The wiring will go a lot easier and they will stay in place better if you get it all layed out, then wire tie the wires together into a bundle. Once the pod is installed, push the bundle of wires up into the headliner. I ran all the power and grounds from the right side, and all the gauge wires from the left. Have fun... ;)

... The trimming operation isn't necessary on all trucks, some of them have a different roof design and have a bracket that others don't. So far we have been able to isolate that it's mostly early 2003 trucks that have the bracket, but it does pop up occassionally on others too!

It had to be trimmed on my 2005 so I suspect it will be required unless they change the configuration in the 2006's... ;)

Rearview pod

I have the rearview pod and love it. it is out of the way and stays clean. I figured that i was checking the rear view often why not put right there. Genoes has a great kit and is easy to install and they even provide extra directions for the stuff that is not included in the guage packs. I have the Isso guages that match the dash, check out my readers rigs for pics. Good luck

I am pondering the same ordeal. From the looks of it (I will resrve comment until pictures are posted) it seems as if there is not enough room to see the OH gauges fully with its console and whatnot.

I too did not want to remove the JC handle on the A pillar, but I may go this route as I really do not use it. The steering wheel has enough "grab- ability" to get in and out. I just may go the A-pillar mount again.

Check my readers rigs for a pic of the oh console. It is easy to see. The only thing to watch out for is there is not much depth to install the guages.
