Well, I've finally got all my gauges working properly (ISSPRO EGT, Boost, transmission Temp), but I'm not happy with the fit with the gauge mount itself. I have a lot of space between the pod and headliner. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
Thanks,
Jack

I've had read on here somewhere, where people had said that on some occasions, you will need to trim the lip that slides under the headliner because it will hit the roof lip, (where your windshield and roof meet). If you pull the liner down and slide your fingers between the liner and the roof you will feel the lip. I had to do this on mine. Hope this helps

Yeah I am not happy with mine either. I need some more of that velcro they sent with the pod. The two pieces ain't cuttin it. My system makes the velcro come undone.

I was thinking of one of these, but the guys at Geno's said they just don't work very well. Doesn't fit well and tend to fall out/down with the higher number of gauges b/o the gauge weight. I'm trying to decide which direction to go with more gauges.

Hmmmm...

This really makes me wonder if I purchased the right setup. I have the exact same problem with my setup... that is, the velcro is not holding up. Not sure where to proceed from here...

Thanks for the replies!

Do a search. I think another member (Matt400???) came up with a better way to hold the gauge pod in place using a metal strap instead of the velcro. Maybe he will chime in.

Here is the thread for the bracket. I mounted mine using this method and it is rock solid. I got the bracket for $0. 29 from Lowes in the lumber section.

Mark,
When you are talking about film, are you referring to the film/"muck" on the windshield? If so, I used rubbing alcohol to clean it. Is there something better to take it off?

Matt,
Thanks for the tip. I've never heard of a Simpson strap, but I'm sure the Lowe's here in town will know. Also, as far as the final fit is concerned, even though I cut off about 1/4" of the two tabs, I still have the issue of the pod being "jammed" up against the trip computer assembly. Did you have to file a part of the front of the gauge pod for a proper fit?

Thanks guys.

Jack

No problem with my velcro either, been in over a year...

You do need to trim the lip on the pod mount a bunch to get them to fit... .

However they do fit well when trimmed enough.
