Overhead w/ homelink

I'm considering trying to find an overhead with the homelink in it. My question is are those things programmed specific for the vehicle or will one from say a Durango work correctly?



Ebay has a ton of the standard ones for the Ram's but none with the homelink. I can find several for Durango's and Dakota's but I wasn't certain if they would function correctly. I guess I can always try it and if not, put it back on Ebay.

I have a homelink mirror in my other car. the only connections tap into a power source and a ground. all the technology is in the mirror and should be interchangeable between vehicles assuming the mounting brackets on the windshied itself are the same.
