Overheating on long pulls?

If they can run 370HP in a boat with the same themostat and water pump, the issue is not in the engine. Boats are always going up hill. I think the guy going to alaska had a fan clutch issue or top of a rad issue. Did you change the crankcase breather. Some of the pictures I have seen of rads that got oil and dirt, are a real mess.



My 93 was having heating issues. Took Rad to shop and guy said flow went from 1 foot in the air before cleaning to 3 feet in the air after cleaning.



Cooled fine after cleaned. BTW it did not look that bad look into it from the cap.

I have not read each post, but the overflow bottle has caused overheating on many trucks.

If the stock overflow is still on it, I bet the top driverside of the radiator is oiled down. Run a 3/4 heater hose from the timing cover over the top to a point in the frame. The corner of the radiator is hard to see. Take it out and clean it.

My radiator was removed and cleaned last summer

My temps still climb, never overheated, I back off a bit and it cools down when descending the hill. My temp gauge red lines at 230 degrees. Since Evans antifreeze raises the boiling point so much I was wondering if that would be a problem for the engine. I know mine runs a little warm because I'm pushing so much fuel at it and I'm just under 500hp.
