I have the 1 ton single wheel 2wheel drive. My 5th wheel RV pin does not push down to the overload springs. But, when I hit a bump, railroad crossing, etc, the weight pushes down onto the overloads and then springs up quickly, causing the RV to bounce up and down violently several times. Just seems the 2 overload springs are too strong.

I see Feerds have only one leaf overload. Anyone ever remove one of the leaves to give a more soft bounce when hitting a bump?

Thanks,

J. V.

The only way I found to cure the problem, was remove the overloads and run air bags. The ride was greatly improved both towing and non-towing. You will be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.

J. V. you might look into the Trailair pin box for your 5th wheel. It is constructed with an airbag and a shock. It really takes the shock out of bumps. When I look in the rear view mirror it looks like it is just floating back there. I was really impressed. :D
