Okay, guys, you finally made me feel bad enough that I just hiked my happy ***** out in the sub-freezing temperatures to look on my driver's door sticker. You're right - the rear axle inflation pressure is 65 psig. I guess I had 70 psig on my mind because that's where I run them when I'm towing.

Blame it on my senility - I'm an old man, after all. :{

No FOUL Rusty! You are ALWAYS right on with comments and answers.

With full RAW at 65psi only gives 130# of cushion. I may start running 70. I must say the rear tires are wearing evenly running 65 towing and 35 solo.

Found this pulled over in a vacant parking lot...guess he was put out of service due to being "overloaded??!!"

Although not related to why he may or no may not be stopped.....I would guess it would have been better to have the tractor a little further back on that trailer.

Speculating why it was parked if it was weight related; Could be improper weight tags (some states register by gross weight) or the driver might not have had a class A drivers license, which is required in every state I have researched for GCWR over 26,000 pounds. At any rate, the manufacturer's weight ratings don't mean squat to DOT.
