All of this debate over pickup trucks being a little overweight, and you come up with this BIG violation of the hours of service!
So which is worse, being 10% overweight, or having no rest the last 36 hours??
FWIW; I used to drive dump trailers in Massachusetts that were legally overweight permitted for 125,000 GVW. Trucks were built with the standard components for the 80,000 GVW Federal limit, yet IF YOU PAID THE STATE THEIR FEES, you could legally run WAY over the truck's as built limit.
So who's kidding who about the safety aspects of a slightly overloaded pickup??
