Greetings, I just purchased my 2018 Ram Big Horn crew cab 3500. When I got home to familiarize myself with the motor and transmission so I don't mess anything up breaking it in, I realized they didn't give me an Owners Manual. I have this little quick guide, and an "Essential Information Guide" but no Owners Manual. I called Dave Smith today and they informed me that they no longer give out a hard copy of the Owner Manual! They said it was available electronically. Do any fellow TDR members know where a guy can get a hard copy of the 2018 Manual? Thanks.

Call Ram. They'll send you hard copies of the manuals. Don't pay for them.

As mentioned above, call FCA/Ram and request the rest of the manuals, there are 3 or 4 of them, about 1000 pages.....unless they have gotten real cheap lately......

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will call Ram tomorrow and request the manuals. I created an account on Ram and entered my new VIN and the truck shows a 3500 SLT model and not a Big horn model. Don't know whats up with that. I downloaded the manual which is associated with the truck entered by VIN and it pertains to gas models. The only thing I can figure is that there is an additional Manual that pertains to the diesel engine. The manual I downloaded is about 700 pages long, but no information on the Diesel motor or the Asien transmission. I must say that I have bought a lot of vehicles in my life and this is the first one I have ever bought that the dealer does not supply the customer with a hard copy of an operators Manual! Beyond frustrated!

Start engine turn on Tow Haul and Exhaust Brake. Put in gear drive moderately til engine temps rise, they do quickly. Now just drive the darn thing and enjoy!

ALWAYS use Mopar, FleetGuard and Raycor filters.

Thanks everyone for all the replies! I have the hard copies being sent to me. I'll tell ya what, I bought my 98 Ram brand new and drove it until I picked up my new 2018. What a shock it was on how much these trucks have changed since 98!

Who do you call for the Manuals? I haven't been able to find it.

My 2018 Tradesman 3500 SRW crew cab long bed came with the manuals. They were in the back seat area with the other loose items. Truck was built August 2018. Nothing on the build sheet about the manuals. Unless the dealer provided it.

You’d be surprised at how many folks never even look at the manual if furnished with one. Post after post here and on other forums with questions that the manual clearly addresses. When you see the size of the manual it may make a little more sense.

I read every manual on a new vehicle. 30 years of working with military manuals and regulations hasn't worn off. I always purchase factory service manual CDs. Not as good as they used to be, but better than nothing.

Cheers, Ron

Big Horn is an option package added to the SLT model, also you need the Diesel Supplement manual....you can download those all for free from Ram

My 2013 didn't come with a manual. But there was an info card in the glove box to order a hard copy from Ram. The hard copy i received doesn't match the online copy. One way it doesn't match is that my hard copy says change the oil every 6 months or 15k. But the online copy also says... Or every 500 hours. My hard copy says nothing about hours

The main manual pertains to mostly general information and gasser information. There is a separate diesel supplemental manual.

Now, you are locked and loaded.

Cheers,

Ron
comrade ron - thanks so much for posting the supplement manual. very good info. cheers back! chris

For the cost of these trucks, demand a hard copy!
