SPA Fuel Pressure gauge install??

yesterday i was pointed to the biggest ( smallest ??) restriction in our stock fuel lines . after a talk with Bill K. he pionted me to the problem which i overlooked .

the hose barb banjo fittings , 2 , between the stock lift pump and the inlet of the fuel filter housing are so small compared to the fuel line size , it amazes me the engine runs at all at anything over idle .

the line between these 2 points is about 5 inches long in a preformed L , the ID is . 312 , the ID of the fittings is less that . 187 , yes that right , i tried to put an 11/64 bit into it and was actually drilling it out larger when i was spinning in the bit with my fingers .

i thought about drilling it out , but you can maybe get it to 9/32 , still smaller than the line , but about the same size as an unmodified banjo bolt , but my bolts are drilled out to 21/64ths , so it would have been a waste of my time . i just repalced the hole line with a piece of 3/8ths line , to -6an to hose barb fittings , i used areoquip socketless hose and fittings , very cheap , and 2 weber -6 to 12mm adaptors , my fuel pressure now will not drop below 3-4 psi , WOT at over 3 digits in speed with all my toys turned on to there highest setting .

also there is still the filter strainer installed in the inlet of the stock lift pump , you can get to it , it requires you to remove the pump from the truck to do it , best done from above , with the filter housing removed .

I drilled and deburred my fittings also and am happy with the results. I have no go fast goodies so its all I need, my fuel pressure went from 2-3 psi at WOT before to 5-6 after. I spent longer cleaning the lines after deburring them than anything else but its worth the added volume.
