Bill, was the VP44 covered under warranty? How soon after the lift pump did the VP44 go?

120,000 and so far only had to replace the fuel hoses, one WIF sensor that started leaking, tie rod ball joints at around 100K, brake pads at 70K and fuel sending unit at around 50K.

102,000 and the only parts to break have been right side ball joints, leaky steering box, and oil pressure sending unit. Everything else has been wants not needs!

Rear axle seal, lift pump, front brakes, Track bar, transmission, although that might be due to injectors, and running on 5x5 on my edge box  all the time.

108K

I have replaced the front brake pads. While the truck was under warranty the Steering column was replaced at 10,000, two tank sending units, 35,000 and 75,000, both rear axle seals at 93,000.

Gave the 1994 away with all toys:{

but gave me excuse to play on new 1995

In the first 100,000 the only problem was the ECM. Almost 200,000 now and still haven't had many problems. Pretty tough truck. Been rode hard and put up wet many times but never let me down. I use it but don't abuse it- just do regular maintenance. Kenny N4YYX

105,000 mi. 1 lift pump at 70k, 1 ac line, rear seal on transfer case, brakes, block heater. Been running big injectors since 20K and the truck is better than the day I bought it.

lessee here 168k miles and:

4-5 sets of front brakes,

axle seal at rear caused virtually unused rear shoes to be replaced (~90k);

starter (prolly jus the contacts, but I just put in a whole new one at 125k)

vacuum and steering pumps seem to be on their way out, vacuum pump leaks oil pretty good but they keep on working (one morning the power steering pump quit; but the next day it started working again, go figure.

transmission leaks a quart every 2 weeks or so, but still shifts strong even though I've had a TST #6 on the motor. I have only changed the transmission fluid 3 times since this truck was new...

Track bar at 130K (prolly needed it alot sooner, but I'm a procrastinator...

Front steering knuckle u-joints at about 134 k.

Fuel tank sending unit (they all fail by 60-80k miles).

Really not bad for a commercially used truck, often offroad, never babied, I abuse this truck regularly, burn outs, off road, pulling tractors outta the mud on the jobsite in 4wd low, spinning all 4 tires on dry pavement! lotsa towing, drag racing ricers, etc. I doubt theres many powerstrokes that could match this service record!

I want a new transmission, but as long as this one keeps workin' I'm gonna wait. I did talk to someone at ATS about a new one and they told me that whatever I'm doing, to keep on doing it because most 47RE die by 90k miles!

Got my truck at 139K. I've only had to replace the starter contacts, 1 belt, relay for shut-off solenoid(pull-in), valve cover gaskets, lower door hinge(driver side), spring that's attached to the t. v. lever on trans, 1 set new tires, 1 bolt for attaching the front driveshaft to the t-case, and 3 battery hold down bolts. I do suspect that the t-case or transmission has been out before, but not sure which or why if they were.

The batteries, trackbar, front brake pads and left rotor, tie-rods were replaced not long before I bought the truck. It even still has all the original u-joints, shocks, turbo(still feels like new), exhaust(soon to change), trans?.

I've adjusted the valves and the bands. The rest has been routine or PM and a few goodies. No power mods as of yet.

This is the fourth truck that I have owned. With ewception to the steering/the way the transmission shifts, I have no complaints. This is the only truck I have owned that is a blast to drive. I plan to have this thing for a long time but, when I do get a different one, I will go Dodge/Cummins again. :D

:) Best truck I have ever owned.

On the 3/36 warranty:

Radio and turn signals

Broken cup holder

Hitch recall

Rear door latch

On the service contract (extended warranty) at about 45k miles:

Transfer case leak

Power seat motor

Work I performed:

Rear fender liners (stupid plastic rivets)

Front brakes 3 times by 55k, 1 bad pad each time (I think I finally solved this problem)

Front bumper covers are a joke

Vacuum line to the center axle disconnect

Under hood light broken

Needs now at 84k:

Pulls to the right and generally drives terrible, steering loose and lots of wander.

Track bar (bad since 60k)

Steering box

Brake booster (accumulator failed around 55k started leaking around 75k)

Transfer case leak (started again at about 65k)

Power seat switches

Original lift pump is sometimes very noisy but pressure is good

Not Dodge's fault:

LH steering knuckle, LH tie rod end, steering box pitman shaft.

Fan belt 50k

shocks 50k

tires 45k/78k

IAT sensor

I feel that any modern truck should go at least 100k with virtually no problems so I'm a little disappointed with reliability but really like the truck overall.

99 dog meat

Well had them the dollarship order me a 99 1 ton 4x4 3. 54 and the dollar since they weren't able to figure out that it had excessive toein it cost me over $5000. 00 to fix that. And of coarse the lack of power was completely beyond them to figure out 130 rear wheel HP was about right. :-{} :-{} That cost me over $ 10,000. 00 They dragged their feet long enough that it was out of warrenty  So i got hold of a Cummins fuel manual and didn't take me long a couple of days to figure out that the APPS was bad so don't think much of them. Cummins of coarse could help either. :--) :--) :--) Ask me what I think of this pile of junk and you people that have good vehicles be very glad that they are good because they don't have the techinical know how to fix a problem with them. And no I am not rough on any of my vehicles. JUST STUPID RE&RE BOYS.

185,000

Replaced: traxk bar 2 times, belt 2 times, upper hose 1 time, front inner axle seals 1 time, transmission 1 time, shocks 1 time, stero 1 time, tires a few times, front sway bar, and that is all except normal maintenance

Four thermostats. New front pads at 42,000. Diff. carrier bearings at about 50,000. Split exhaust manifold. New tires at 72,000. New lift pump at about 80,000. All work done under warranty except thermostats. bg

104,000

ABS sensor, track bar, shocks and overhead console light switch.

New bed - that was my own fault for letting my wife drive home from the lake when some idiot stopped in the middle of the road in a blind curve at night with light sand on the road after I knew the ABS sensor needed to be replace and the rear wheels locked and she jack-knifed the truck and boat :( Of course she didn't hit the other car who promptly took off before I could, well, talk to him.

I'm only at 63,000-miles but:

2-lift pumps (warranty)

2-center consoles (warranty)

1-sunglass holder

30-tires (highway 9 casualties)

and currently..... ball joints, track bar, drag link, etc. (replacing with Moog).

P. S. Forgot about the cam angle sensor going out with 7-miles on the truck.
