Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P 0215 Trouble Code

While filling up the other day I checked my codes. Came back with a 1693 and a 0215. I know the 1693 is a companion code, so I am not worried about that one.



The 0215 code does concern me. From my research it comes back as "Fuel Injection Pump Control Circuit Failure in fuel pump relay control circuit" and I am also hearing that is might be engine shutoff solenoid.



The truck has no symptoms at all, runs and drives just as good as before I got the code. My FP is good, and no other signs of a problem.



Anyone have a possible solution?

Here is a twist.



My father in law has a Mac-Tools ET50 OBDII scanner. Brought it home and ran a scan. It came back with no trouble codes, but my odometer display shows the 1693 and the 0215. I went through the clear function on the scanner and it said erase complete, but the two codes still show up.



My check engine light is not on, and to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been on.

That's odd but I don't have an answer for you. I hope some who does chimes in soon.

That code is normal if you have a comp and or a Programmer on it and is normal to not clear, but you don't show them in your sig so I am not sure.

no programmer at all, completely bone stock truck other than gauges.



I unhooked the batteries to clear the codes. I am going to hook them back up in the morning and drive it to work.



Guess we will see what happens. I still have the scanner, so when I get to work in the morning I will scan it and do the self scan.

truck sat overnight with the batteries disconnected.



It cleared the 1693 code, but not the 0215. The 1693 is in the PCM and the 0215 is in the ECU if that makes any difference.



And again, the check engine light never came on and the scanner says there are no codes.



After my 15 minute drive to work, the 1693 was back and the 0215 is still there. Again, no problems visable with the truck.



And to rule out the relay, I swapped around some relays. the fuel system with the wipers. No change.

What ever became of your 0215 code? Had any problems with the truck? I ask because I did the ignition test and got the 0215, but my scanner does not pick it up. Otherwise, my truck runs fine.
