... anyone else ever have this one? Picked up during hard pull in Tx. yesterday afternoon with cruise on and fighting a stiff headwind. Sign my APPS is going or what? Made it home OK, truck seemed to "hiccup" when this came up, don't know if it was just the cruise trying to fight it or what?

Could be just a glitch. I'd keep an eye on it. Is your APPS under the driver-side battery or up on the intake manifold?

I believe that version of the APPS is a potentiometer (as opposed to the hall-effect device they put under the battery in later models).

Potentiometers have a nasty tendency to get "spots" in them that don't properly conduct. The good news is it's something that would gradually get worse, rather than suddenly fail catastrophically.
