I've come up empty on a search for a couple of codes on my son's '05 and was wondering if anyone out there has encountered these two, P0633, & P0071.

Thanks GW

P0633 SKIM Key Not Programmed in PCM

The P0071 generally because of the sensor on the air box it think. Had it unplugged when started, dirty, etc. This code should clear on its own if the problem is no longer there.

The P0633 code is a little weird. I have had that code on mine for over a year. My scanner can not clear this code because it is a DC stored code. The dealer tech said it just means that at one time the chipped key did not register correctly with the computer and that many things could cause it. He said not to worry about it, it is stored and would just show that at some time in the past there was a chip key error.

I've read that the Bully Dog Downloader will cause the P0633 code. Any chance he's bombed the truck a bit? Codes are the primary reason I don't have a BDDL yet...

I just got my truck back from the dealership and the tech told me that the P0633 code is a way of DC knowing that you have modified the vehicle. They will not cover certain warranty issues if this code comes up when they scan the vehicle. The tech also told me that they are required to notify DC if this code appears on your vehicle.

I had the P0633 code when they replaced an injector. The P0633 was there before I did any performance box or downloader. I had specifically took it to the dealer to find out what had caused the P0633 code and got the explanation I posted above. I ran the Dr Performance Stage II after the P0633 was showed to the dealer and before the injector was replaced under warranty.
