Competition Educated Another DMAX

I heard or read somewhere recently that Scheid went to a different pump for their puller this year (no idea if this is true or not... ), and it got me thinking - does anyone have any idea what the approximate hp limit is for a Piers 'stupid pump'?

Chris

I can't comment on Piers' stuff, but I think that your limit is actualy going to be air, somthing alot of people don't like to admit.

Fuel will get you a long way, Air will get you noticed.

Wow. Would their be any advantage to running Scheid's 12-cylinder pump, then? I doubt they're making 1500 hp, but is the fuel delivery different between the two or something? Thanks for the info, guys.

Chris

Probably the only I-6 to need a 12cyl. pump would be something in the range of a super stock tractor, 540ci, three or four turbo's, what are they making 2500+hp? I wouldn't think that a little 5. 9 would ever need a pump like that.

I would think the advantage to a 12 cylinder pump would be two smaller injectors per cylinder for better atomization of the fuel not neccessarily more fuel just better fuel.

Here is some math for you, my truck made 565 in valet a while back but it may be up just a tad now, that is at 325 cc's! In full full the pump will deliver 700+cc's..... you do the math... ..... now lets talk big injectors. Jake has the right idea, the trouble is burning it!

That's not how the 12cyl pump works, each injector has a "Y" on top that 2 lines feed into 1 injector.

Not to publicly grill you, just FYI for all reading. :)
