What else does boshe put our beloved p-7100 pump on? I. E. other engines other than cummins 5. 9? I know just about every engine manuf. of ag. equipt. and const. equipt. i. e. J. D, New Holland (er ford), IH, AC, Case, uses boshe pumps on several of there engine applications, but I have yet to run across the p7100 on anything other than the our 5. 9 Cummins. Anyone?

TIA

Russell

The 8. 3L C-series Cummins used the P-7100. Some of these were rated up to 450hp in OEM form.

Beware of differences in how the oil is fed to the pump... . the Dodge application uses an oil feed line. I have seen a few P-7100's that get their oil supply from an oil gallery built into the gear case. You can use them, but you have to modify your gear case... welding, drilling, tapping, etc.

Deo Read is about to try this scenario with his 1st Gen. He's using a P-7100 off an 8. 3L with a modified gear case, etc.

I dont know if there are any differences between the pump on the different engines. Also we have some ford 6. 6 liter I6 with p-pumps on them.

A 1970 Case Bulldozer. I don't know what size engine, but it a pretty big dozer with an I-6. I replaced the delivery valve gaskets to correct a miss. They had cracked them loose to bleed the pump after ruinning it out of fuel. Some pumps have a copper ring at the bottom of the valve that breaks. It doesn't leak externally but misfires on those cylinders.

The Mack uses a P pump. Ford uses the P pump and some too, but that's International, isn't it. A Ford dump came in last week with one on it. Fuel shutdown solenoid shot. I installed a manual on it. It's fun working on a Cummins or P pump. I feel at home.

the P7100 and the P8500 look almost the same. the only way to tell them apart is the pipe plugs on the gear end of the pump drive. if i remember correctly, p7100 has one plug and the p8500 has two plugs. i know mack used both types of pumps at one time.

Here's what you have to do to your gear case to make a P-7100 off an 8. 3L work: #ad

The backside of the gearcase has to be welded up to create the necessary material to be drilled out to make the gallery to feed the pump. This is not for the faint of heart... but the machine shop that did this work did a VERY nice job. The shop did the welding (MIG), drilling and machine work to make the o-ring work, etc.

Now all that needs to be done is to figure out how to feed oil into that un-tapped hole. It's aweful tight in that area once the gearcase is hanging off the engine.

Speaking of other apps for the p-pump, I've got one I have a question about, if you want to call it a question. A case tractor, with a 1st gen 5. 9 cummins, with a p-pump, atleast thats what I think it is, looks pretty much the same, with a few minor differences. But here are ALL the numbers I could pull of it, I'm sure someone here can decipher them.

TAG on side (towards gear housing):

268170506654708

0 403 466 144

PES6MW100 1 (or) / 1Z0RS1137 (I can't read my own writing)

TAG on rear:

RSV450... 1100MWZA31929

CDC-NR 392 6218

Does any of that make any sense?

TIA

Russell

the 0 403 466 144 is the part number for the pump. I believe the top number (above the part number) is the serial number. Other than that I'm not sure. I remember from work you can run the part number and get the specs. on it. But that was threw the bosch system.

I've seen some 5. 9s in the Case spray rigs. Never paid attention when I was up their beside them to see wether or not they had p-pumps or where 12v/24v.
