As mentioned above I am not a big fan of the conversion except for a max performance application. The VP will never be able to supply the fuel a good turned up p-pump can, but it will provide for better driveability..... The are better components to make it work well available now then when I had mine. Cams, Injectors, etc made just for this application. In any event plan on lots of tuning + a lot of trial and error to get it to run close to as nice as it was with the VP installed. Personally if you want a p-pump I would just put a good 12v in it.

Hey buddy, thanks for coming in here and giving "rdd4X4" some good advice! ;) I remembered what you had told me about the problems you had with your conversion and also what Larry Crawford had said.

Thanks Doug!

Dale,

How long did the first pump live with the Comp? They have been known to cause problems for the VP44. I would put a good HRVP44 on it with Smarty & TST. You will be happier with the result. I have a friend that did exactly that and he is so glad he did.

Also, do you have a fuel pressure gauge after the filter?

I recommend AirDog when you have fuel delivery issues.

Godspeed,
Trent

Maybe this is a dumb question but why would a converted 24v be any "less streetable" than a 12v? Even Teds converted common rail drove like a 12v
