was messing around with some 24 valve injectors and hold downs, they are a direct bolt on to a common rail head, the tips look identical in dimension, the connector tubes are shorter on the 24 valve but the tips are the same, so whats the deal, it doesnt appear to be rocket science to install a p-pump, anyone else doing this and not talking, i know there are some out there... . :-laf

How well does the P-Pump conversion work on a 48RE equipped truck?. . Does the transmission still work as it is supposed to or is additional work/parts needed?

The answer is in post #2.

Oops. Skipped right by it...

As far as the auto transmission's are concerned, I would think you'd need one of the older 3rd gens with separate ecm's for the motor and trans. Either that or get a separate controller for the trans. Just a guess.

it takes around a week to do everything, give or take some time due to the differnt setups on each truck. the p-pump does work with the 48re it is a diff. setup.
