P0148 Code while using Smarty Jr.

While towing my 10k Horse trailer and Jr. set on Towing and I'm getting a DTC Code P0148. When I change the Timing to Setting #1 I can reset to Code and it will do ok unless I really wrap up the RPMs. So, does this make sense? Ask me questions if it will help. Do you think the fuel pressure is spiking because of Jr. ?

Its much more likely it loosing rail presure than spiking it. Thats a checksum error that indicates actual rail pressure is not matching demanded pressure in the required time period.

What is the condition of your fuel filter?

Timing shouldn't have any effect on that.

My truck just threw that code and I believe P0088 when the Lift pump died
