Can the P0216 code be set by anything else besides the IP being hosed ?

I think you're right. I dropped the truck off at the dealer this afternoon so they can do the official diagnosis. Im hoping they will honor the warrantee (I still have about 3 weeks left). If not, Ill give the $100 for their time, and take it to a local shop for the new vp.
